Types of PTZ Camera

The PTZ cameras produced by our company mainly include the following types:

Outdoor PTZ camera

The PTZ camera you tend to deploy outdoors must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions and temperatures. These cameras typically come with a weatherproof exterior and an IP rating indicating protection against the natural elements.

Wireless PTZ camera

When the installer doesn't find it easier to run video cables, wireless PTZ cameras come into play to help you transmit video wirelessly. Wireless PTZ cameras are deployed for large-distance outdoor monitoring, where using the cable could be expensive.

4K PTZ Camera

Advantages of PTZ Camera

Large field of view

You can use the PTZ cameras to keep a close eye on the large area. Using the fixed camera in conjunction is most recommended to prevent gaps coming into the coverage. Permitting the model of the cameras, you can move these cameras anywhere between the 180 degree/ full 360 degree tilt and zero pan/tilt. Some cameras also come up with the digital Tilt and pan, allowing you to adjust the video after recording, but the video resolution could be affected this way.

Auto track

The auto-tracking PTZ camera allows you to customize the field of view of the camera to follow or detect moving people or objects automatically. This type of feature is most recommended for quiet areas where the movement is pretty minimal.

Zoom ability

Another significant advantage you carry with the PTZ camera is that it can be used to capture and view distant objects like license faces or plates by zooming them out. The camera comes up with digital zoom including 20x, 30x, and 40x, referring to the maximum focal length over the minimum focal length. It also implies that the zoom will get further distance if you increase the number in this regard.

Remote control

Conventional PTZ cameras can be adjusted remotely and manually, allowing you to track suspicious activity. It assists the users in altering the camera's field of view without going into the onsite. Some of the most common control mechanisms tend to include computer apps, joystick controls, and mobile apps, which help all the operators customize the cameras through control.

Applications of PTZ Camera

Stadiums:

Help ensure crowd safety during concerts, events, or sports games. Capture the action and oversee seating areas, entrances and critical points.

Parking lots:

Can wide areas with extensive coverage at key locations, including entrances, exits and high-traffic areas.

Transportation hubs:

Increase public safety by monitoring platforms, ticketing areas and waiting zones. Use facial recognition and investigate suspicious activities.

Parks:

Provide a safer environment for park-goers, deter vandalism and illegal behavior and monitor wildlife.

Train yards:

Monitor train yard operations, tracks and storage areas to safeguard assets, detect unauthorized access and respond to security breaches promptly.

Storage lots:

Gain a bird’s eye view of sweeping areas from poles or towers. Monitor equipment, infrastructure and detect suspicious activities.

Warehouses:

Secure entry points, loading docks, storage areas and inventory in warehouses and distribution centers.

Loading docks:

Observe loading dock operations, prevent unauthorized access and deter theft or tampering of goods in transit.

PTZ Camera Placement Considerations

Height and Angle

Position the camera at an appropriate height and angle to maximize its coverage. Placing it too high may result in insufficient details, while positioning it too low may limit the viewable area.

Avoid Obstructions

Ensure there are no obstructions in the camera's field of view that may impede its functionality. Trees, walls, or other physical barriers should be taken into account during placement.

Lighting Conditions

Pay attention to the surrounding lighting conditions. Avoid placing the camera directly facing a light source, as it may cause glare or wash out the image. Instead, position it to utilize the available lighting effectively.

Weather Protection

If installing the camera outdoors, use weatherproof enclosures or opt for cameras specifically designed for outdoor use. This protects the camera from environmental factors like rain, snow, and extreme temperatures.

Secure Mounting

Ensure the camera is securely mounted to prevent any tampering or vandalism attempts. Sturdy mounting options, such as poles or brackets, can deter unauthorized interference.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between IP camera and PTZ camera?

A: PTZ cameras come up with a broader and better field of vision when compared with the IP cameras. PTZ camera holds tilt, pan, and zoom attributes, but IP cameras don't have this type of luxury. There are no blind areas with the one PTZ camera, and you can't move the IP camera, so setting up various cameras in one area makes sense to avoid the blind zones.

Q: How far can a PTZ camera zoom?

A: The PTZ camera comes with the impressive ability to zoom in on objects professionally. For instance, it allows you to opt for the 60x zoom 16,7-1000 mm or 60X zoom 12,5-750mm. These two lenses come up with the autofocus to zoom in on almost everything going on around them.

Q: Are PTZ cameras worth it?

A: PTZ cameras can be worth it if you need versatile coverage of large areas, as they allow for remote control of pan, tilt, and zoom functions, which can reduce the need for multiple cameras. If your security needs involve monitoring wide or dynamic spaces, the investment could be justified, but for smaller areas or if you prefer simpler setups, a fixed camera might be more practical.

Q: How to operate PTZ cameras?

A: In the image panel, drag your mouse from the center to move the camera in that direction. The farther the cursor is from the center of the image panel, the faster the camera will move. If the camera supports Click to Center, click anywhere on the image panel to center the camera to that point.

Q: Do PTZ cameras automatically track?

A: Unlike standard fixed-lens surveillance cameras, PTZ cameras offer precision control and a wider range of features for unmatched flexibility.

Q: How long do PTZ cameras last?

A: Due to their weather-resistant properties, a PTZ camera can last up to 10 years with regular maintenance and cleaning when required.

We're well-known as one of the best PTZ camera manufacturers and suppliers in China. Please feel free to buy customized PTZ camera from our factory. For price consultation, contact us.
